How To Make Halloween Jello Shots
Once you have all your ingredients ready, here’s the process you’ll need to follow to make the layered Halloween jello shots.
Step One: Boil two cups of water. Add four tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. Whisk well.
Step Two: In a bowl, add in two packages of gelatin Knox and hot water mixture. Whisk well. Add two cups of cold water. Whisk well.
Step Three: Carefully pour into the cups. Place the Jello in the fridge for up to 8 hours or until completely set. Once Jello is set move to the next step. Fill each cup with a little whipped cream. Sprinkle the top with sprinkles.
Step Four: Create toppers by uploading a PNG image to Cricut’s design space and select “print and cut.” Use a blue cutting mat and set the Cricut dial to light cardstock. After cutting, hot glue a toothpick to the back. Let dry, and they’re ready for your Halloween jello shots. Place the topper into the Jello. Serve cold!
Tips For Nailing This Recipe
- Choice of Containers: You can use plastic cups or Jello cups to make these shots in. If you don’t have them, you can also just stick to using shot glasses instead. I prefer using plastic cups over shot glasses, simply because of their convenience.
- Ingredients Tweaks: While the actual ingredients call for the use of condensed milk, I also like adding some sugar into the mix for a little extra sweetness.
Variations
- Creamy Orange Delight: Begins with a vibrant orange layer, followed by a creamy top layer of either whipped cream or condensed milk for a smooth finish.
- Fruity Favorites: Introduces cherry jello and grape jello as delightful fruity alternatives to the base recipe for a burst of flavor.
- Mysterious Black Jello Magic: Crafts a dark and intriguing option by blending black gel food coloring into unflavored gelatin, topped off with black sugar for added mystique.
- Eerie Layered Spectacle: Combines layers of grape or purple Jello, orange Jello, and black-colored unflavored gelatin, crowned with a dollop of whipped cream for a visually stunning and tasty treat.
- Candy Corn Surprise: You can also try out another unique Halloween Jello shot by adding some candy corn into the Jello cups and turning it into candy corn Jello shots.
Best Way To Store Jello Shots
- Storage: Store the layered Halloween jello shots covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
What To Serve With Halloween Shots
- Candy Corn: Serve candy corn on the side for a sweet, festive touch to complement Halloween Jello shots. Perfect pairing for a spooky treat!
