While I’m a big fan of the pumpkin latte I come across at coffee shops near me, I really wanted to try a coffee shop version on my own, at home.

I’ve dabbled with quite a few homemade lattes, but this one totally hit the spot with its simplicity and flavor balance.

This has to be one of my favorite pumpkin recipes of all time and it pairs really well with cheesecake cookies.

Tips & Tricks to Make the Delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte

Think you’re ready to give this recipe a try? Here are some tips and tricks to help you nail it.

Pumpkin Spice Latte
  • I used white sugar for this recipe, but you can also use brown sugar to sweeten the pumpkin spice latte. This will lend a nice caramel-like flavor to the warmly spiced drink.
  • While you can use skim milk for this recipe, I would suggest using whole milk if you really want to enjoy the creamiest latte.
  • I would also recommend adding a pinch or two of ground cloves and some cinnamon sticks into the milk while it is till on heat.
  • You can also make iced pumpkin spice latte by allowing the milk mixture to cool down and then mix in a cold brew.
  • For a more intense pumpkin flavor, you can use homemade pumpkin puree into the mix. You can easily make it yourself with some canned pumpkin.

Can I Use Non Dairy Milk?

You sure can! You can use oat milk, almond milk or even some coconut milk if you’re trying to make a vegan pumpkin spice latte.

You’ll also want to top the drink with some coconut cream instead of the regular whipped cream.

What Other Sweetener Can I Use?

You can also try a naturally sweetened version of this pumpkin spice latte. Maple syrup is a great option, but of course, you could also opt for stevia or other sweeteners.

How Can I Make the Pumpkin Spice Latte Frothy?

To make the pumpkin spice latte more frothy, you can use a milk frother to froth the hot milk mixture before adding the coffee in.

If you don’t have a milk frother, you can use an immersion blender too.
