1CupLemon Juice
1CupSugar
1TablespoonDried Food Grade Lavender Budsoptional
1TeaspoonBlue Matchaoptional
Instructions
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Stir over low heat until the sugar has fully dissolved. Turn off the heat and add the butterfly pea flowers, lavender buds (if using), and blue matcha. Cover the saucepan and allow the mixture to steep for up to 10 minutes.
Once the tea has finished steeping, strain out the flowers using a fine strainer or cheesecloth. Allow the syrup mixture to cool completely, then transfer it to a mason jar.
In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice with the remaining 5 cups of water.
Slowly pour the cooled syrup into the bottom of the pitcher. Pour the lemon juice and water mixture over the syrup. Stir together until well combined.
Serve the Butterfly Pea Tea over ice cubes. Garnish with fresh lemon slices, if desired.
Enjoy your refreshing Butterfly Pea Tea!
Notes
Don’t over-steep the flowers—too long can make the flavor bitter.
For a deeper color, use more butterfly pea flowers or a dash of blue matcha.
