8-10Ripe Passion Fruits Yielding Approximately 1 Cup Of Pulp
3CupsWater
¼- ½ CupSugar Adjust To Taste
1tablespoonLime Juice
Ice cubes
Instructions
Slice the passion fruits in half and scoop the pulp into a bowl, aiming for about 1 cup.
Place the pulp in a blender with 2 cups of water. Blend for a few seconds to loosen the seeds.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher. Press with a spoon to extract all the juice, then discard the seeds.
Add the remaining 1 cup of water and stir in sugar until dissolved. Taste and adjust the sweetness. Add lime juice for a zesty kick.
Chill the juice for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
Optionally, garnish with lime slices or a few passion fruit seeds before serving.
Notes
Pick Ripe Passionfruit: Look for fruits with wrinkled skin; they’re sweeter and have more flavor than smooth, unripe ones.Strain the Seeds: If you prefer a smoother juice, use a fine mesh sieve to separate the pulp from the seeds after blending.Adjust Sweetness: Taste the juice before adding sugar and adjust based on the natural sweetness of the fruit.Use Chilled Water: Start with cold water to make the juice instantly refreshing without diluting it with too much ice.
